Naya Bricher is an artist and dancer from South Kent, CT. She is senior at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where she is pursuing a B.A. in Studio Arts, with an emphasis on painting and printmaking. Additionally, she is fulfilling the unique Museum Studies Concentration program.  In the spring, she received the Megan Hart Jones Studio Art Prize for her large-scale painting, Accumulation which became the foundation for her honors thesis project.  She shows regularly in juried group exhibitions throughout New England and has work in private collections. Recent shows include: Memorial Mandala at Four Eleven Studio in Provincetown, MA, CT+6 at the West Hartford Art League, Indulgence at Thornes’ Arts Night Out and Art to the Point at Katonah Museum of Art.

In 2009, she graduated with honors from Miss Porter’s School. As a student, she was a member of the student government, the Nova Nine, as the Head of Main and served as one of Heads of Dance Workshop, the school’s audition based dance company.

In addition to art, she enjoys anything with a hint of creativity, such as wearing brightly-colored, daily fashions. She is an avid baker and cake decorator as well as a lover of sushi and schnauzers.

This fall, she has begun an honors project concerning the cross section of trash and art in the forms of excess, indulgence and accumulation. She intends to explore the issues that arise between trash and art through large, visually-dense, oil paintings.
